Personal Statement
I'm in the Class of 2026 at Columbia Falls High School in Western Montana. I'll be entering my Senior year in August 2025. I have played softball my whole life and hope to continue, while getting either my business or allied health degree. I'm still keeping my options open for what field of study I wish to pursue, but find myself most interested in Financial Investments or Occupational Therapy.
I take the student athlete title to heart, with the student part always coming first. I have achieved an unweighted cumulative GPA of 4.0 and hope to keep that in this next school year.
I've known since elementary school, I wanted to play a sport in college, but could never quite pin down which sport. In the last couple years, it became clear to me that my biggest joy is softball.
From the first year I played on a softball team, I was drawn to the catcher position. Although I've played several positions, catching is my passion and love. This position fits me so well, as I have the ability to lead the team and the knowledge to do it efficiently. I truly enjoy studying the game and applying what I've learned.
With being a 2 sport, varsity athlete, hard work has been necessary on and off the field. My sister Sydney has been an incredible example as to what it takes to excel in education and sports. Sydney plays division one softball at Nicholls State University in Louisiana which has given me a first hand understanding of what it takes to compete at that level.
My appreciation for my coaches, teammates, and other players is unmeasurable. It excites me that there is always something new to learn and something new to try. It's important for me to direct and communicate with my teammates, as I'm the player that can see the whole field. I've witnessed the importance of communication, as it helps create a cohesive flow binding and unifying a team.
When I'm not catching and another catcher is getting reps behind the plate, I find myself in the outfield, but have also played all positions with the exception of pitcher.
Although I'm playing some type of sport all year round, I make sure to find time to spend with my family and friends. Maintaining a balance between sports, education, and my social life has helped me stay mentally focused.
I appreciate you taking the time to look at my website, and I hope to visit with you in the future. Wishing you and your team the best in the upcoming season.
